This is London-based singer/songwriter Faye's debut album following her mini-album "Country and Eastern" on D Script, her work with the act "Spooncurve" and various sessions for artists including Eric Mingus, Lemon Ensemble, Law and Auder, Ray Hearne, Koan, Muslimgauze, Doppler 20:20. The album brings together ideas, inspirations and fusions from around the world, featuring many well-respected musicians from the world music scene including Nigel Eaton on hurdy-gurdy, Kuljit Bhamra on tablas, Steáfán Hannigan, Ben Clark and Gerry Diver from Sin É supplying pipes, whistles, guitar, percussion and drums, Saskia Tomkins on violin and cello and Bob Derwood Andrews on slide guitar, amongst others, but mostly Faye's warm, compelling voice and sensitivity.

The songs are reflective sentiments on different aspects of relationships, from joyous and hopeful, to melancholy and brooding, from minimalist acoustic ballads ballards like "Words for lovers","Haunted", "Heat" featuring Saskia Tomkins on violin, and the beautiful "Falling" accompanied by Collen Gregory's guitar, to full sonic workouts such as "Predator Love" with its hurdy gurdy from Nigel Eaton (Peter Gabriel, Afro celt sound system, Page and Plant) with its middle eastern feel, "Tidalwave" which features Kuljit Bhamra on tablas and has a Punjab twist, and "Walk on water" with drums supplied by Lol Gellor(Koan, Sarah Cracknell).

"More than she dares" gives us a slightly country feel with Bob Derwood Andrews (Generation X, Westworld and Moondogg) on slide guitar, as does "Something to run with" the west-coast inspired "Heaven knows", and "On her way" featuring Ben Clark and Gerry Diver from Sin E. Celtic Pipes and sounds show themselves accross the album from Steafan Hannigan, such as "We too are stardust".

The album has a very live and real feel to it, no computers, samplers or sequencers were used.

Produced by Martin Lee-Stephenson, Kuljit Bhamra and Steafan Hannigan, this is a truly wonderful release .
